SURVIVAL CHECK

It's been over a week since I saw the preview show, but it's popped into my head several times since. The play follows four college age friends who go on a camping trip and end up getting sucked into a magical adventure when they find fantasy weapons in the woods. If you think it sounds like a simple comedy, you'd be wrong because Lloyd seamlessly weaves existential themes and deep relationships into the light hearted premise. But before I talk about the cleverness of the script, I want to ta... full review

CringeFest: An Uncomfortable Anthology

I saw the show last night and loved it! Maybe the best sketch comedy I've seen live. This collection of short scenes is well written and clever, but what really makes it work is the chemistry of the cast members. I especially loved the infomercial on human breast milk that took a dark turn! But all of the scenes were delightfully awkward and did a great job of showcasing the comedic talents of the cast. during another of my favorite scenes two ex best friend magicians hash out a decade of hu... full review

Nicaea

I saw this play almost a week ago and haven't stopped thinking about it since. The writing is phenomenal, smart and tense. Kind of like game of thrones meets house of cards with a little bit of 12 angry men. The cast is phenomenal. Especially Meletius, but honestly, no weak members here. And what makes them so great is their ability to spout off dense paragraphs of theology in a way that sounds spontaneous and personal. These characters are smart people, and largely, godless people. Which is wh... full review

The King's Language

I love the show! It's well written, will directed, well staged, and well acted. The storyteller and the kings were standouts. She for her charisma, her wit and her comic timing. He for his intensity, his empathy and his charm. Seeing this, I was reminded of Lin Manwell Maranda's Alexandra Hamilton. The king here is idealistic, Young, a genius and compassionate. It made me want to learn more about this historical figure. I also love the storyteller, and the way her character was able to draw... full review

THANKSGIVING

I thoroughly enjoyed the show! The script is well written and funny. The characters are complicated and real. And it manages to be both over the top and poignant.I especially love the actors playing Victoria ( or is it Veronica?). But wonderful comic timing and dramatic moments from everyone. Definitely recommend the show!... full review

REMOVED

It felt good to be in a theater of people mocking 45. And it ended in a less nihilistic place than I thought it would. It's more a sketch comedy play and a clown show than a musical. But it owns those things up front. There are lots of fun characters, like Melania trump as a Barbie and Sean spicer as a puppet. Also MAEGAN MANDARINO was a stand out performer with great presence and a beautiful, versatile power voice. I wanted her to sing more.... full review
