War Stories is a great show because of it's two biggest weapons... and they're both named Sarah. Schreiber and Kelly are alive and open on stage and I could feel their characters just by watching. Kelly does very little and her fear and what all she is holding back is palpable. It's a really controlled, measured, mysterious performance. Schreiber plays a torch in a firework factory. The best Fringe show I have ever seen and one of the funniest shows I have ever seen, period. It takes an 'Emperor Has No Clothes' approach to the ponderous and pretentious nature of theater that equates death, disease, addiction and abuse with insight and rips every sacred cow a new one. This show is deeply silly and so are the characters. Every single performance is hilarious and incisive. Every damn one. I loved this show.... full review
