Alec Tomkiw

Alec is an actor, voiceover artist and teacher from Prince George, BC, Canada. He is an alumni of Simon Fraser University and AMDA in New York City. A company member and performer with The American Russian Theatre Ensemble Lab (ARTEL) and Rogue Machine Theatre. Assistant Director for the Los Angeles premiere of Christopher Shinn’s Pulitzer Prize nominated drama Dying City which won an Ovation Award for Best Production of a Play (Intimate Theatre). He has studied with world-renowned theatre artists and educators such as Aitor Basauri (École Philippe Gaulier, Cirque du Soleil), John Achorn (Dell-Arte Company), Alexandra Billings (Transparent, Steppenwolf West) and Dakin Matthews (The Antaeus Company). His specialization is rooted in physical theatre pedagogy, ensemble theatre practice and clown. He is also a founding member of Sea Change: an organization providing arts education by theatre practitioners to correctional facilities.
