Elisa Noemí
Elisa Noemí (BA Theatre Arts, UCSC) was born and raised in LA by a diverse community of Latin-American activist-artists who instilled in her an ardent faith in the personal/political healing power of art. Elisa is an alumni of the UC’s only multi-cultural theatre troupe, Rainbow Theatre, where she directed Suzan-Lori Park’s In the Blood and the devised Spoken Word theatre production Poets’ Corner. Passionate about devised ensemble theatre, Elisa co-created The Beautiful Ugly with the Alchemy Collective, and co-directed SP!T: A Tribute to Tupac Shakur with Alex Alfaro in 2011. Most recently, Elisa performed in Federico García Lorca’s La Casa de Bernarda Alba in it’s original Spanish language. As an actor, some of her favorite roles include Joan in Saint Joan by George Bernard Shaw. Rosalind of Shakespeare’s As You Like It, Tilly of Sarah Ruhl’s Melancholy Play, Oralia Snyder of Luis Valdez’s Mummified Deer, La Carmen of Luis Alfaro’s Electricidad, Ghost of Fernanda Coppel’s chilling La Soñadora, and La Loba in Shawheen Keyani’s short film Coyote.
