I haven't seen this show. I saw an excerpt at this evening's Pick of the Fringe... Woah. Penny is a daring and extraordinary actor.. She glides across the tight-rope separating comedy from tragedy with a felicity that belies the effort and skill it requires to not fall off. Everyone needs to stop what they're doing right now and buy a ticket to see this guy give one of the most brilliantly nuanced and fiercely smart comedic performances I have seen this side of Mark Rylance... Wow! I saw just a little bit of this tonight at Pick of Fringe, and I was on the edge of my seat the whole 8 minutes. Anne Starbuck is a masterful storyteller. She managed to ignite my imagination, break my heart and make me laugh - all with a deceptively easy charm. Her vulnerability and warmth is palpable and extremely compelling. See this show.
