I Can't Indian Good

Walking into this show, I knew nothing of Brandon, only people telling me that I needed to see it. And they were right. This show is excellent. From the start Brandon takes you right into his problem of looking Indian, but not knowing anything about what it means to be Indian. His script and performance are so on point that you can easily picture every scene he walks into and every character he steps into. His characterizations are just amazing and he shifts between characters with such prec... full review

I was sincerely blown away by this show. Right from the start, I was drawn into Pavan's script. As a performer, he is so captivating and enganging. His ability to utilize his space, his props, and his physicality to create every moment is amazing. I was truly impressed by the casualness of the dialogue and the description of each scene. I could easily see every location he was taking us into and could picture every character he described. The story itself was not only compelling, but unapol... full review

Wow! What a show! Right from the get-go, just looking at the stage set, I was intrigue and excited. I was not prepared! Alexandra hits you in the face right from the start. She's bold and energetic and full of life. And what I love is that this is the perfect set-up for what's about to happen. We watch her show us so much of who she is in the first 5 minutes, that the rest of the play becomes this beautiful journey of discovery and enlightenment. It's just wonderful. The writing is what ... full review

The Importance of Being Anxious

Not knowing anything about this show, I was very pleasantly surprised. Right off the bat we are taken aback by Hal's honesty and vulnerability. He's not only hilarious, but in your face, brutally honest. It's a real fascinating story to watch and Hal, through the direction of Ralph, takes us on this very personal story as we watch him discover himself. There's lovely moments of calm, mixed with over the top moments of anxiety. It's lovely. ... full review

Extremely well written and very honest. Right from the get go it's hard not to be captivated by Hailey's character Effie. Hailey is on fire in this show as she takes us through Effie's life, crazy lifestyle, and the bizarre characters in her life. We follow Effie as she moves through her life over the course of a couple days leading to an extremely heartfelt and brutal ending. The pacing is fast and in your face as Hailey brilliantly navigates the space, alternating between talking to the aud... full review

From the moment the show began, I was smiling. Laser has brought to the Fringe one of the most unique solo show's we've seen. The seamless blend of music numbers, to life moment re-enactments, to interactions with JKR, to projections on the overhead screen are incredible. Laser's writing is brilliant in this piece that takes us on an educational, sentimental, and extremely vulnerable story. He makes us laugh and cry, and even get a little angry at times at the people that he's dealt with in h... full review

I have to begin by commenting on my intrigue upon reading the blurb that describes this show as using multimedia, as that can go several different ways. Let me say just how blown away I was by the usage of media in this show. Not only was the writing, directing and performing at its best, but the seamless blend of video and audio to aid in the story telling was just incredible. Now, that being said, let's really talk about just how brilliant this piece is. For a short (40min) production, you ... full review

From the moment we walked into the space, I knew this would be an interesting show. What appeared to be a Western campsite set turned out to be the inside of a jail cell. And as Dani, in the role of Bill, began to talk to the audience as though we were fellow prisoners, the show just took off. From the moment she locked eyes with the audience and began addressing us, I was hooked. Her writing and performance were not only on point, but brilliant to the last letter. She has the incredible kno... full review

Good lord, what a show! Not having any clue as to what we were seeing, I was immediately blown away with in five minutes. The script is on point. The actors are on point. The staging and directing are on point. It is easily one of the best shows you will see this year. It's funny. It's emotional and heartwarming. It's alarming. It really does cover a lot of ground. Not only that, Peter's script allows every actor to shine. Just when you think someone is merely playing a side character,... full review

Oh My God! This show will blow you away!! I mean that. I've seen a lot of shows this year, and it is one of the best. The performance by Marguerite is off the charts! And I know that sounds crazy, but I'm not kidding. She commands the space so effortlessly that we just disappear into her world. She slips in and out of various characters with such ease that you can't help but stare. Her script will make you laugh. It will turn your stomach a bit. And it will for sure make you cry! It's j... full review
