Five short sketches that attempt to explore the current political, social, dating, and sexual baggage that comes with being a cis, white male today. The show ended with an absolute bang.... full review

POCKETS

Personally, I think this is the most well-structured and developed script that Robot Teammate has done at fringe so far. Plot details are set up that payoff so well, performances are lovable, and everything has this RT perspective to it that feels juvenile, yet polished and tongue-in-cheek.... full review

Illogical management, lazy employees, innocent crushes, and annoying customers are in full effect at Jamba Juice: The Musical, which reminds us of one thing for sure... working retail sucks.... full review

Four Clowns Presents: Shakedown at the Dusty Spur!

Pure bliss. I loved this show so much. I've seen several Four Clowns shows before and this one did not disappoint. This troupe has an incredible knack for comedic timing and crowd control. One of my favorites of the year. A guaranteed good time.... full review

The Last Croissant

Totally played for fun, The Last Croissant is cathartic way to laugh in the face of tragedy. And what better way is there to deal with devastation than comedy? Sharply directed over-the-top performances set the goofy tone for this getaway vacation play while keeping the pace flying from the start to the end.... full review

SON OF A BITCH

A fascinating biodrama filled with wit and an exceptional performance by Ben Hethcoat. From the POV of Lee Atwater, we watch him rise through the political ranks, break conventions, and change the system. The script carefully deviates from its A-plot from time to touch on Lee's love life. An extremely enjoyable play from a solid theatre producing team. You will leave the theater ready to Google Lee Atwater and find out more.... full review

Sunbathe in Darkness

benjamin schwartz · June 18, 2019 certified reviewer
Inspired by music and the aesthetic of the poseur Hot Topic goth and pop-punk scene from the mid-2000's, Sunbathe In Darkness, is a nostalgic-driven play focusing on a very awkward friendship between two geeky teens while simultaneously featuring incredibly terrible (on purpose) fan fiction dramatized for the stage. Fringey AF.... full review

THE DEATH OF SAM MOBEAN

benjamin schwartz · June 14, 2019 certified reviewer
To me, Sam Mobean is an alluring, abstract play conjuring themes like identity crisis, existentialism, and fate. Great use of the black box and several creative, unique theatrical conventions are established early on and used throughout with great success and excitement. I felt as though these scenes were best taken in by allowing myself to settle into the momentum and tone of the piece instead of trying to decode them on-the-fly. The most interesting piece that I've seen from Michael Shaw Fisher... full review

Olivia Wilde Does Not Survive the Apocalypse

benjamin schwartz · June 13, 2019 certified reviewer
A crowd-pleasing, high-concept satire drenched in current pop-culture references. Matthew Robinson tackles the postmodern comedy genre with familiar devices and tones while dodging the trite and expected. Robby Devillez earns a gold star for keeping the action flowing and the actors engaged and moving onstage. ... full review
