An endearing, wonderfully sentimental, one-person show delivered through snappy comedy, nostalgia, and a lot of love.
To no surprise, Hal has impeccable comedic timing and is a wonderful storyteller. Even though we are in a large venue (for fringe) this still felt intimate, which is quite an accomplishment. The whole show has a cozy, warm and inviting tone - almost like you're having a beer with Hal as he shares stories about his late Father's transgressions and schemes.

A masterclass in tomfoolery. Pure fun for 75 minutes with plenty of well-executed clown, mask, and puppetry tricks to keep you engaged from start to finish. The drift from script to improv is seamless which turns the whole show into a biographical-meta-parody of sorts that feels fresh even though the theatrical tricks are classic through and through. No spoilers here, just go if you want some excellent irreverent comedy in your fringe schedule....

Overall chilling and deeply uncomfortable, "And What of the Children..." will most likely be unlike anything else you will see at Fringe this year.
While the motifs challenge the deepest parts of our erotophobia, we are left with examining the humanistic choices of this family unit, made up of two brothers and a sister who have been establishing new lives while under supervision in a government witness protection program. Although sometimes the choices are surprising and bizarre, there is plen...

Anytime Michael Shaw Fisher puts up a new piece of work, I'm gonna be there. Why? Because I know what I'm gonna get is no-bullshit good theatre. Stellar acting. Mature dialogue. Precise directing. And that's exactly what you get with this play.
Without spoiling too much, what starts as a Albee-esque 1960's kitchen sink drama, ends up churning into a more sophisticated, more twisted, darker "Indecent Proposal".
It's a wild ride that, at times, feels like it's about to fly off the rails, but...

A true character study piece with rich personalities, quippy dialogue, excellent set dressing, and costumes.
The Sam Shepard "True West" aesthetic and influence is pulled off with precision, with just a tinge of "Pulp Fiction" and "Resevoir Dogs" thrown in for grit.
Each actor on stage has standout moments, but Blake Shields Abramovitz steals the show with his hilarious "spiritual healing" quirks and rituals.
While dark comedy surrounds the story, the existential themes and well-develope...

Fantastic set design and some beautiful, grimy imagery in the text. Wonderful tableaux created throughout, using the height and scale of the set to its advantage. Honest, compelling performances by the whole cast. The whole piece feels like a lot of love and care went into mounting this production....

One of the best one-person shows I've seen at fringe over the years. Callie shares her harrowing experience wrapped in levity and so much sincerity. The songs are extremely catchy, which Callie nails with ease. Great comedic timing. You will be both moved and thoroughly entertained during this snappy musical. A fantastic show all around....

Absolutely superb. Great concept, well directed and executed, knockout performances. Extremely funny, especially for those of us that have grown up in the theater, and never does it feel like pandering to its fringe audience. A unique, memorable theatrical experience that will make you think in between the laughter. Also some great mask work. A crowd pleaser from start to finish....

"Brave... Provocative... These are words you can use to describe art."
The audience laughs, and even though Tony jokingly delivers this line during his show I thought it couldn't be any more true to describe his show.
There's something very special about this act, and Tony. The show is a mix of part stand up, part avant-garde comedy, part poetry, and part honest self-confessional/deprecating humor. To sum it up, it's beautiful. Tony is not afraid to share some of his darkest thoughts, which...
