ANXIETY THE MUSICAL! (do you like that title? is that okay?)

emily clark · June 24, 2026 certified reviewer
I knew nothing about this show going into it and I walked out fully obsessed with Jasmine Elist! In a Fringe full of solo shows, Anxiety the Musical tops the list for me. Elist pulls only the best tropes of the genre and created a piece that studies personal subject matter without hitting you over the head with it. Also this show is HI-LAR-I-OUS. Highly recommend!... full review

Three Eulogies for Tyson Miller

Such an eloquent and emotional script that I could see performed in university theatre departments right now (I'm a theatre educator so please know I mean this as a compliment)! It's a perfect character study that gives its actors a range of emotions and connections to explore. A touching study of friendship and the ways in which we drift apart. ... full review

Jimi Darkness: Alcoholic Superhero

emily clark · June 22, 2026 certified reviewer
Oftentimes at Fringe I see musicals written by folks who don't really know how to do it. This is NOT one of those shows. Jimi Darkness is the textbook definition of a rock musical in the best way, adapting Byous' concept album for the stage with tunes that won't leave your head for days. You'll rock your ass off and cry your eyes out. The cast will melt your face off and you'll be left wanting more!... full review

Vote for Tom Ryan: One Last Time!

emily clark · June 22, 2026 certified reviewer
Having seen act one of this piece two years ago, I was interested to see where Petriello's script would take us this time around, and it did not disappoint! I loved these goofy characters and following where the story took them. Really sharp, hilarious, oodles of fun, and surprisingly emotional by the end. I would Vote for Tom Ryan over and over again if I could!... full review

Strange Beings

emily clark · June 21, 2026 certified reviewer
All the best sci-fi stories aren't really about space and aliens. They're about us, about people, and how these high concept scenarios challenge our humanity. Strange Beings pulls off this impressive feat in a (less than!) 60 minute Fringe one act. ... full review

STRONG STOIC STRAITZ: ALPHA PODCAST FOR MALE KINGS (a musical)

emily clark · June 14, 2026 certified reviewer
A hilarious premise executed to perfection by a dynamic cast and amazing creative team! The jokes come at you a mile a minute and the heartfelt moments are surprisingly sweet. I think if every dude-bro podcaster would see this show and listen to his inner musical theatre kid, Mike Hadge could save the world!... full review

Arden of Faversham

What a wild show! It truly felt I was plopped into the seventeenth century and I was watching an Elizabethan soap opera. All plot all the time, easy to follow, and riveting to behold!... full review

Pit of Hope

Pit of Hope hit me right in my heart! The performances were top notch across the board, the message was salient without being preachy, and the set design was powerful without being overwhelming. As an Eaton Fire survivor who also lost their soul dog last year (to old age, don't worry! He had a great life), there was no way I was getting out of this show without bawling. I was so incredibly uplifted by the end and riveted throughout. You'll laugh, cry, and want to hug your dog very tightly after t... full review

PARIS + JULIET

emily clark · June 06, 2026 certified reviewer
Charlie takes a character we barely care about in one of the most famous plays ever written and imbues him with humor, heart, pathos, and oh, did I mention humor?! He's a master Shakespearean actor who's also busting out the best dance moves at Fringe! I never thought I'd care about Paris but, thanks to Charlie, he might just be my new favorite character in Romeo & Juliet.... full review

F*cking Famous

Molly Sharpe is like if Andy Kaufman was Britney Spears. I don't know how she is able to make a cappella pop songs into such a hilarious gimmick, but I suspect it's because they're extremely well written!... full review
