I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Film from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Arts degree in Literature from the University of Texas at Dallas. “When the World Was Green” is my third short film. My previous films were shown in festivals across the country, including SXSW, Black Maria, Social Outcast, and New York International Independent. After turning my focus to short fiction, I was nominated for a Pushcart Prize for a story published in Thema. My poems have appeared in Amoskeag; Compass Rose; Euphony; Hampden-Sydney Poetry Review; The Madison Review; Mudfish; Pennsylvania English; Quiddity; Whiskey Island Magazine; and other journals. My play titled “A Ship of Human Skin” was awarded Finalist at The Bay Area Playwrights Festival and Semi-finalist at The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center’s National Playwright’s Conference. My play titled “Mapping Paradise” was published in Sojourn.
