After watching the play, I watched the film and I see the inspiration, but I also see where Source Material went off in their own direction – you kind of have to. The cartoon is about a hedgehog drowning in a body of water (obviously it’s about much more than that but you get my point). To me the piece was about breaking through confusion – breaking through the fog of life – breaking apart – being pulled in different directions: which makes sense coming out of the perspective of post-adolescenc... full review

There is nothing like some absurdist Russian theater on a Sunday night. “Kharmful Charms of Daniil Kharms” presented by ARTEL (American Russian Theatre Ensemble) is an avant-garde theater piece based on the stories of poet and children’s writer Daniil Ivanovich Yuvatchov (who renamed himself Daniil Kharms). Ligature Marks by Mac Rogers is a brilliant marriage of strong, intense, specific acting, simple but precise directing and fast, insightful, witty writing. The quirkiness of the story is reminiscent of Woody Allen meeting Sam Shepard. On the strength of the substance of the material and the execution by all involved, this is another great show to see here in the Hollywood Fringe Festival.... full review
