Amica Hunter

Amica Hunter has been an artist all her life. She grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she spent her time vaulting (that’s gymnastics and dance on the back of a moving horse), acting, painting, sculpting, swing dancing and climbing trees. Amica moved to Portland, Oregon in 2010, where she received training in aerial silks, static trapeze, theatrical improvisation, stilt-walking, unicycling, and partner acrobatics.

After putting together a few multidisciplinary comedic performances, Amica knew what her next step would be. She packed up her things and moved to the Bay Area to study clowning under director Joe Dieffenbacher in the new Clown Conservatory professional program at the San Francisco Circus Center.
While in the program, Amica gained quality instruction in clown, bouffon, Commedia Dell’Arte, dance, mime, slapstick, and improvisation. She also furthered her training in acrobatics, and trained in contortion and flying trapeze during her time at the Circus Center, and began collaborating with David Cantor. After graduating from the clown program, Amica and David co-founded their company A Little Bit Off, and began crafting their material and planning their first tour.
