Such an ambitious project that I could totally see as an indie film in the vein of SAW. I really liked the concept and having such "normal" looking people doing such heinous crimes. I also really liked that we (the audience--doctors) were on the other side of the "mirror". I like the whole idea that we are "active" spectators as it all plays out. BRAVO! to Cameron and Soo. ... full review

Poignant. Personable. Storytelling at its finest. Gail drew me in immediately and I was with her all the way. The writing was smart and she is so likable. A well-deserved standing ovation. And on a Sunday 12:30 pm! Just wonderful.... full review

Thank You So Much For Coming

I went in not knowing what to expect and I left being blown away. I thought it was brilliant. Alex's Cynthia creation reminded me of a character from a Tennessee Williams play; someone oblivious to the real world and who fancies herself to be socially dynamic when in fact she is lonely, awkward, and desperate to connect with another. I loved the audience interaction and improv and it showed Alex's quick wit. This has been a show I recommend to people. ... full review

From the start, I was engaged. Heather is so likable that I would go along for any ride she wanted to take me on--which she did. Heather was in the driver's seat of this emotional ride that was not only about her life in relation to boxes (whether it be checking them off or filling them up or getting rid of them) but also about unrealized expectations. For me, that's where the tragedy and the comedy meet, making this piece so strong and heartfelt. While some writers/performers could easily come o... full review

A funny peek at the "momagers" of Hollywood. Impressive comedic actors whose delivery and timing really accented the humor. I especially enjoyed the four characters' dynamics and the little twist at the end. I could see this as a series. Overall, the show was a fun ride.... full review

The Portable Dorothy Parker

What a way to start the Fringe! This was the first of the shows I intend to see, and if this is any indication of what is in store, wow, what a year this is going to be. The PORTABLE DOROTHY PARKER was just so well written, performed, and directed that I don't know where to begin. I went to the show because I'm a fan of Dorothy Parker, but I left being a fan of Annie Lux. So I guess the writing is where I'll start. The writing was both witty and acerbic. As Dorothy Parker reflects on the works... full review

Don't think for a second these are just your average children's poems. Remember, the show stems from the mind of Abby Schachner, not your average solo performer. While it's easy to get caught up in rhyme scheme and rhythm, these are cleverly written and skillfully crafted pieces with so much love and soul put into them. Some of my favorites are "Malcolm the Forgotten," "Draggin' Dragons" and "T-shirt Princess." This show's about imagination, childhood's in particular, that as adults we tend ... full review
