Came to see some some of my favorite Jazz Age wits exchange barbs, was treated to the turning point in a hero journey for a young writer. All the actors' performances were nuanced but remained sharp, not falling for the lamentable predilection to drop every bit of writing to the lowest common denominator or make the characters blandly "nice"; particularly Alexander Woolcott (played with beautifully acerbic poison by Steve Brock) and Dorothy Parker (appropriately excoriating while still vulnerable... full review

So, A.- It's not hype. Every great thing you've read so far in the reviews is spot on. This is a tour-de-force performance by a loving, masterful storytelller. and B.- The storytelling is fully supported by the crisp and specific direction, great lighting and screenwork, PLUS a beautifully choreographed and scored song-and-dance number. What more could one want? This absolutely deserved the standing ovation it received, given while I was laughing too hard to wipe the tears from my eyes. Yeah, ... full review

Saw the Slate Two Screening, Tuesday, June 25. Still processing everything that was shown. It was one beautifully crafted and told short film after another. Just as I think I've decided which one is my favorite, the other six start clamoring for my attention. It's hopeless, I can't pick one.... full review
