Norge Yip has been a featured soloist and ensemble singer throughout Southern California and for recordings for albums, commercials, music videos, video game/television/movie soundtracks, studio demos, and premiere performances. He has been seen on stage most recently in David Ono’s Defining Courage honoring the Nisei soldiers of World War II, as Haruki Sakamoto in Torrance Theatre Company’s presentation of E.M. Lewis’ How the Light Gets In, the Russian Admiral and multiple characters in East West Players’ highly acclaimed run of Sondheim and Weidman’s Pacific Overtures (Orchestration and Music Direction Award, LA Drama Critics Circle), the Imperial Commissioner in Pacific Opera Project’s groundbreaking production of Puccini’s Madama Butterfly presented in English and Japanese (Opera Company Winner, The American Prize), and as Sherlock Holmes in Mesopotamian Opera Company’s world premiere of Peter Wing Healey’s The Italian Lesson. Previous roles include Old Man in Nathan Wang’s On Gold Mountain (Best Opera Award, BroadwayWorld), Caiaphas in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar, The Dungeon Master in Nicolas Brandt and Laura Watkin’s Comic-Con: The Musical: The Workshop, and Submarine Captain in Roger Neill and Julien Nitzberg’s The Beastly Bombing (Musical of the Year, LA Weekly Theater Award).
