JIYOUNG CHOI is a director, actress and playwright with over 17years of experience teaching acting. She studied Acting at Chung Ang University in Korea and Columbia University in NY and has performed in Seoul, New York and London. Some of her performed plays include: The Tempest, Canterbury Tales, Big Love, Kitchen, Danton’s Death, Sound of Voice, Myeol in National Theater Company of Korea.
Her awarded-winning monodramas include Macbeth’s Lady Shaman(2023 Best international award) and Cordelia Sword of the Wind(2025Best Classical Award). In 2024, Macbeth’s Lady Shaman was invited as a solo performance by the Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival.
In 2015, She founded Young Company and has been focused on perspectives of female roles and wanted to help female characters hidden and untold stories to come out to the world and finding her own voice of telling important things in life.In 2026, she will present K-Cordelia: Sword of the Wind at the Hollywood Fringe Festival on June 11th, 13th, and 16th.
