Gustavo Alberto Garcia Vaca – Writer/Director/Producer
Gustavo Alberto Garcia Vaca is an interdisciplinary visual artist/writer and arts educator. His artwork is in the Collections of MoMA New York, LACMA, and the Bibliotheque Nationale de France. His work has been published in the online speculative fiction journal Strange Horizons, UCLA Critical Planning Journal, literary journal Bilingual Review, and comic/manga magazine Shonen Jump/Aoharu. Gustavo collaborates visually with Detroit Techno producers Underground Resistance and Jeff Mills, Dub producer Francois K, graffiti painter Man One, comic creator Kenny Keil, interdisciplinary artist Seth Ernsdorf, graphic designer Hideki Nakajima, multimedia artist Hilda E. Garcia, and others. He presents his work at academic conferences, art museums, and conventions including Comic-Con International San Diego. He has completed degree programs at Hampshire College, Harvard, CSUN, CSULA, Architectural Association London – and a highlight of his theatre studies is working with Billie Whitelaw, a key collaborator of Samuel Beckett.
