Emile Lacheny (he/they)

Actor, Director, Producer

My name is Emile Aslan Lacheny. I am a Franco-Turk artist born and raised in Paris. As silly as it sounds, I would not have dedicated my life and soul to art and be thousands of miles from my home if it wasn’t for Digimon. An episode where Orgemon sacrificed his life for the heroes moved me so much that I realized the power of storytelling. It still exists as a core memory for me and ignited the spark within me. I started believing that humanity’s greatest tool was storytelling, and I wanted to be a part of it.

I had no way to channel that passion, however. The cards life dealt me made it difficult as a teen. So instead, I consumed art at an almost insane rate. Five films every two days. I had to find a way to live. I decided that America is where a lot of the diversity I saw in art was. So, I decided to teach myself English.

All of this to say that storytelling, acting, writing isn’t optional for me. It’s instinct.

So, I went to the U.S to pursue my art. I first obtained a BFA at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas. I interned as the assistant of the Artistic director of the Playwrights Foundation in San Francisco. Worked for the Austin Film Festival. I then I moved to New York where I graduated from the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, interned at the Acting Company. I most recently won the Broadway world award for best new play Off Off Broadway of 2024 for my show E.G.G. On my free time, my biggest passion is consuming all forms of art, especially all things Dr. Who.
