Melanie Martin was born in Washington D.C. and was reared in Tallahassee, Florida. She is a southern girl to the core! She has a long history in the theater and as a dancer. In fact, she has studied many styles (including West African, Tap, Jazz, Modern & Ballet). One of her favorites is Capoeira (and Afro-Brazilian martial art and dance). She ventured on to San Francisco’s American Conservatory Theater where she studied and sharpened her skills. She, then, toured the country playing Peter Pan on stage. After landing in Los Angeles, CA, she has gone on to further study acting at Ivana Chubbuck Studios, as an advanced student at the Beverly Hills Playhouse in Beverly Hills, and with various other impressive coaches. She has booked numerous commercials and television appearances and has a budding career in voice acting. She is looking forward to this year’s festival and to future opportunities to perform and produce.
