A tour de force for Bella Merlin. The excellent singing, acting, writing, and multiple personalities she displayed (did I say acting?), were a delight. The production values were very high. If you like intelligent, well-written, shows about strong women, don't miss this piece. The only complaint? We felt that the play could be expanded even further, to a full-length production. Dead Dog's Bone: A Birthday Play

There were some lovely moments by the cast, some fun theatricality and the writing in places was well done. But overall, with its scattered and fractured nature and the choice to cast young actors in the roles of father and mother, the piece didn't ring as true or emotionally deep as it could be. Hopefully, with more time and further work, this will become a full-length play that finds a good home.... full review

I've seen many shows at the Fringe, and this one has to be one of the best. The characters that Ann Starbuck brings to life, the themes, the visuals she creates with just a few simple movements, and the emotional roller coaster -- from laughter to tears -- fantastic. I brought three guests, and we were all delighted and grateful. Thank you Ann Starbuck for creating such a piece! ... full review
