The show has the perfect title, “Happy, Merry, Joyous” is an exact description of what this show is. You know that uncle that you see around the holidays that would always make you laugh as a kid, and then as you grew up you got to know the real him and he was even better? As a fan of space and science fiction, I was thrilled. But as a writer? I was in awe! Like all great Sci-fi it uses the fantastical elements of a far off future or galaxy far far away to tell a very human story about people here and now. In this case it’s a masterful examination of a failed relationship and the mistakes of the past with the mystery and intrigue of a first contact with aliens in deep space.
