Rich Faugno

I’m a sought-after acoustic and electric bass player, and musical educator from Long Beach, CA. For over 20 years I have worked as a session player for many live performances and recordings, in various genres including jazz, swing, latin, rock, ska, Caribbean, funk, R&B, stage musicals, and any combination thereof. I recently have been a regular member of Los Angeles bands Vaud and the Villains (revival/burlesque) and Blues Adjacent with Ann Cusack (blues), and currently am playing with Chambers, Herbert and Ellis (jazz vocal), and several small jazz ensembles in Long Beach. I studied the Simandl method for acoustic bass under Jennifer Leitham (Mel Torme, Tonight Show with Johnny Carson) and bring a well-rounded approach to every project, regardless of style. I actively pursue projects which meld styles and forge new ground in creation space. I’m of the mind that music is a spiritual experience, with listeners and performers having equal parts in that communion. A third equal part is the mysterious Power greater than ourselves – which connects us all.
