I've never seen a single "John Wick" film in my life and it didn't matter. Woody Fu deliciously lampoons nearly every action movie trope in the book in this hilarious, precise, and completely ridiculous show.
I simply must call out Woody's impressive pantomiming skills, which really carried the show. Every single movement was perfectly synced up with his exceptional audio track, immediately transporting the audience into the middle of some of the most brutal fight scenes you can fathom.

Funeral Show

"Funeral Show" is one of the most unique solo shows I've seen at the festival thus far. Boldly choosing to be on stage throughout the entire show, Elena plunges the audience into a vulnerable, chaotic, and hilarious funeral service for her still-alive father. Skillfully weaving in elements of clown throughout, Elena keeps the tone light and playful throughout the show (despite the darker subject matter). It's impossible to not have fun at this show!...

"Absolute Legends" is the clown show to see of the festival. Silly and unserious from top to bottom, this show simply never stops being entertaining. These two command and fill out the rather large Main Stage easily, and the audience was on their side from minute one. Plus, did I mention you will actually LEARN HISTORY in this show? I can't remember the last time I laughed that hard and learned that much simultaneously. Go see this show!...

Daniel Shar might be the next Nathan Fielder. Among the many storytelling shows in this year's festival, "Near Sex For Work" stands out as one man's honest and hilarious retelling of his misadventures in the sex and porn industries. Thoughtfully and tastefully presented, this show will leave you impressed by Daniel's sharp comedic skills, his long-term commitment to his craft, and how much he has gotten away with over the years. I wouldn't be surprised if this show kicks off Daniel's own cult fol...

This is the type of show that Fringe was built for. Experimental, funny, provocative, yet still full of heart, "Out There" is full of surprises that never cease to delight! It's one of those theatrical miracles that occurs when a seasoned performer and excellent character writing collide with phenomenal tech (easily the most technically impressive show I've seen this year). I've been recommending this show to everybody. Go see the midnight show if you can!...

"Natural Born Citizen" is a show that sticks with you. A true testament to the power of minimalist storytelling shows, Yousaf takes you on an hourlong journey through his upbringing with no props, no costumes, and a set consisting of only two blocks (because that's all he needs). Punctuated with 2000's pop-punk jams, the show is hilarious, profound, nostalgic, and completely compelling from beginning to end. I feel genuinely lucky that I got to witness Yousaf's story in this show, and you would b...

"Do You Accept These Charges?" is the best storytelling show I've seen at the festival thus far! It's one of those rare, special shows that only happens when an artist who has lived an absolutely wild experience ALSO has the ability to tell the story exceptionally well. To find so many moments of levity and self-awareness within such a raw and vulnerable piece is not easy to do, and Laurie does so effortlessly. If you have the chance to see this show, do it!...

A must-see solo show of this year's festival! Full of hilarious characters, heartfelt moments, and some of the most unique PROPS I've seen at any Fringe show thus far, "Moments in Flight" will have you laughing one minute and tearing up the next. It's a wild ride that takes so many twists and turns, you'll be on the edge of your seat (at one point in the show, in a literal sense). It's rare to see a show that is so funny but also extremely poignant; a true celebration of life itself. Go see this ...
