Homecoming: A Darkly Funny Tale About Losing My Mom and Finding Myself... Again

tabatha myers · June 22, 2026 certified reviewer
It takes an incredibly skilled performer to get you to laugh about grief, and Dara does exactly that. In the very first minute, you're pulled into the love that Dara's family has for each other and taken on a journey into how that love presents itself when faced with darkness. I was so honored to be along for this ride. It was healing, funny, sad, and uplifting all at once. A must-see!... full review

Bus People

Tamra is one of my favorite comedians, so I went into this expecting to see skilled character work about the riders of LA public transportation. And that was part of it, but this show is so much bigger than that. It's not hyperbole to say I was entranced. It's a fascinating blend of comedy, history, and dance, an homage to the people of Los Angeles and how they make their way in the city. One of the best shows I've seen this year!... full review

Grief Baby's First Road Trip

This show cradles grief so lovingly. A quintessential road trip becomes something so much deeper in Adedana's hands. She generously allows us to join her in grieving her father and searching for herself while she looks for signs from him. I was blown away by this show. ... full review

Full stop, this is necessary theatre. Rejyna has delivered a gut-wrenching story of identity and maternal tenacity. I cried tears of happiness, sadness, and everything in between. The music woven into the show was a nice reminder that Rejyna has remained a passionate artist throughout her life. ... full review

And What of the Children...

tabatha myers · June 26, 2025 certified reviewer
"And What of the Children" is a masterfully unsettling piece of theatre—dark, intense, and beautifully staged. The ensemble cast works hard to create a fluid, haunting narrative that lingers long after the final blackout. Ryan Lisman’s writing is precise and chilling. ... full review
