Eternal Flamer! The Ballad of Jessie Blade

Eternal Flamer is camp at its highest elevation! Huge laughs, insane characters, and boundary pushing comedy that always felt like it was coming from the heart. I miss gay shows that aren’t afraid to fuck around with taboo topics and this show charges forward unapologetically. With puns and references sprinkled throughout, this show is exciting, invigorating, and incredibly entertaining! ... full review

Ms. Edwards

I am absolutely in love with Ms. Edwards!! All of them! Sidney is such a dynamic, hilarious actor with the energy of a whole ensemble! I laughed every minute and was truly touched by the heartfelt advise given. There’s plenty of funny shows in LA, but to see one where the performer makes you cackle and shows their genuine and beautiful soul is very, very special. Sidney is an incredible actor and a beautiful human being. And Byron!!! This is the magic team. These two are a powerhouse wr... full review

I LOVED this play! Drew Petriello has written a hilarious, touching play that races to the finish line. It’s an incredible representation of what can happen when despair takes over. It’s an incredibly timely story that I think we can all relate to right now. ... full review

Family Fries

Pam Eberhardt has written a dark, rich take on the current state of the American family and it is sadly and eerily not that absurd. With sharp dialogue, brazen performances, and deft direction, Family Fries is a great piece of theatre.... full review

Outdated

Kirsten is an absolute jewel of the LA theatre community! I could watch her throw magic around the stage for days. Whether she’s giving me a howlingly funny joke or a simple, poignant moment, I am always leaning forward. Outdated is another gorgeous example of her wit, her intelligence and her humanity twisting around 100sq ft at the LGBT Center. She is such a brilliant writer and performer and I want to see everything she does!... full review

Starlight Stage

A beautiful, touching, grounded piece of fantastical theatre that eases the audience through many layers of grief with magic and care. Carly Jibson’s direction is smooth and thoughtful. The subject matter of Daniel Sliwa’s incredibly touching script is heavy, but Jibson and the cast bring the audience just to the brink without ever making us feel completely overwhelmed. A total success.... full review

Gregory Nussen delivers what is sure to be a major contender for Best Solo Show at Fringe. Full of both laughs and profundity, Nussen skates through very personal stories in a way that feels universally relatable. They are a nuanced and intelligent writer and a vibrant, heartfelt actor with a massive amount of charm. Using a very clever conceit, Nussen (with fabulous co-director Hannah Pilkes) has crafted an exciting train ride. I never knew where we were going, but I always felt safe and d... full review

This is such a beautiful piece of theatre. Jon Gentry is vulnerable, strong, hilarious! It moves effortlessly from topic to topic, character to character. The writing by Gentry and direction by Shinelle Azoroh are both spectacular. I highly, highly recommend this play and hope it has more life after the festival.... full review
