Brett Rosenberg

Brett J Rosenberg was born in Chicago to a jewish father and german mother. He grew up watching movies in a way that was odd, not like most kids. The first was Mary Poppin’s. When Ms. Poppin’s would fly away clenching her umbrella at the end of the film he would start to cry. The only way mom could dry his tears was to pop the VHS in again and play the film over from the beginning. Brett calls those the “watch and repeat days”. It was a way of viewing that sort of never left him. Up until his mid-twenties, he watched movies in this way. Film ends and pop it in again. Living in Hollywood and pursing a career in film this was a very effective way to learn. He wasn’t just watching movies, he was learning them. In his mid 20’s he began hanging around cafes and book stores. Meeting book dealers and thinkers, Brett began buying and selling used and rare books to buy production equipment. Brett has always embraced the Beat generation with a deep love of literature and jazz. He loves the films of Woody Allen and the words of Tom Waits. He has tried to stay true to the things around him that inspire him to create.
