Surprisingly heartwarming, Safety Stew explores grief's 5 stages and how it transforms over time via a blender. BK uses this analogy very cleverly, and the physical comedy from the "smoothies" she makes gets a visceral reaction out of the audience every time. I very much appreciate BK's signature raw and vulnerable storytelling style....

All Cats Go to Hell captures existential crisis amidst the chaos of middle schoolers trying to cover up an accidental murder of a neighborhood cat. Mandy’s writing manages to hit on powerful themes about what happens after we die while keeping it humorous in a dark humor type of way with very colorful characters....

Italome effortlessly weaves humor and tragedy into her story, which hits so deeply from so many angles. The way she captures the multigenerational impact of grief and the fear of submitting to unknown forces despite her best attempts to be self aware and grounded in reality makes this show even more touching. Mermaid is a thought-provoking piece that balances the light with the dark to talk about the aftermath of loss....

Habla y te Salvas will make you laugh and cry, sometimes at the same time. Christopher and his father are beautiful to see together on that stage because you can see the care between them but also the generational and cultural gaps that can cause tension and misunderstandings. Christopher coming to terms with the messiness of his relationship with his father and the things that do get lost in translation as a “No Sabo Kid” is so relatable to any kid with an immigrant parent....

Dear Auntie B. is a wonderful combination of humor-filled advice from a quirky New Yorker lady and sadness when watching a woman break down despite her best attempts to keep it all together as her world falls apart. The loss is devastating as the audience finds out the truth underneath the workaholism and silly relationship advice letters. Becca’s acting brought humanity to a flawed woman who is trying so hard to cling to normalcy when tragedy strikes....

Intrusive Thoughts is such a raw and real representation of what it’s like growing up to believe that you’re inherently broken and messed up, what it’s like to want to go to sleep before you’ve really woken up to who you want to be. BK’s vulnerability and willingness to share her story from the depths of her darkest thoughts, conveyed in ways both heavy and humorous, take us on this healing journey in the mountains with her....

My Little Phobia brings us not just into Emily’s room but right into their overthinking mind. What made this piece really special is how we get a glimpse into different aspects of her phobia and how it has impacted every facet of her life and also where it may have stemmed from. Regardless of whether audiences can relate to this specific phobia, what resonates is the importance of support for mental health and acknowledgment of one’s own fears and traumas....
