Sandra Banman is a educator/writer/storyteller. In the last decade she has spent her time deconstructing the impact of her religious Mennonite upbringing which has resulted in her one woman show, MennoMorphosis: How to become a secular Mennonite in 500 years or less, which she performed at the the Kingston Fringe Festival, in Canada in 2023.
Sandra studied acting with Cindy Tanas Acting Studio and is a Drama Specialist with the Toronto District School Board. She directed “Indigo Forest” by Bridget Erin and “Would you do it again?” by Rebecca Grace at the New Ideas Festival at the Alumnae Theatre. In 2015, Sandra created and directed a short documentary based on her mother’s journey from Ukraine to Canada during and after WWII. Presently Sandra is working on a Certificate of Creative Writing at the School of Continuing Studies at the University of Toronto. You can find her writings at thesecularmennonite.com
