Husky Whispers: Baked Alaska

Husky Whispers just got a new fan! These two men are wildly talented, and incredibly funny. But their tenderness and emotion moved the room in such unexpected ways. They had me howling with laughter, and then moved to tears. Their bits and gags and silliness added sparkle and cleverness to an already wonderful experience. What a fantastic show. ... full review

The Delulu Diaries

Lucy does a great job with a tender and raw, yet suspenseful solo piece. I loved how vulnerable she was, how she used the conceit of a burglar, how she didn't shy away from sharing her fears. Relatable: the fear of being single and dying and what happens next. She really "went there" in this piece, and I couldn't applaud her more. I left wanting to be friends with this character. ... full review

CVNT

This show was fabulous - strong performance, great concept, edgy-yet-considerate audience interaction. Sophie teeters on the edge of making you so uncomfortable about cvnts, and then reminding you that that societal shame is the very problem. So you stay in your seat, wanting to see more, more, more! It's obvious why this show is so highly lauded. Way to go on an incredible piece!... full review

I liked the connection to Twilight Zone, where thrillers reflect societal scaries more deeply. Each piece felt distinct. Found Family subject matter always hits me in the feels :)... full review

Diane Diane! The Parole of a Lifetime

Diane is ridiculous, and we had a lot of fun hanging out with her. Silly crowd-work, goofy discoveries, and the coolest costume in Fringe made this a delightful hour!... full review

MOTHER

Christine made a great show! I really enjoyed the tension, and the way keeping the relationship with mom going was so haunting. I could feel the sense of over-worked loneliness. She really went there. The use of props and set pieces added so much, and I never knew what was going to happen next. Suspense!... full review

ShotzLA: An Exquisite Corpse

Fun and goofy! I love the use of Exquisite Corpse to build out a play by multiple writers, and it proved to be a wild and weird experiment that I really enjoyed. I think I guessed correctly when the writers changed, but I'd love to know from the team when it happened - I bet this was super fun to put together!... full review

To make your Existence Easier: a Dual-solo Experience

A beautiful exploration of immigrant stories from two very different cultures and perspectives. I loved how they wove their tales together, and how they shared so much with the audience. I felt welcomed and included -- the performances were gracious in oh, so many ways. Thank you for sharing your stories with us!... full review

Cursed My Road To Hollywood

I really enjoyed hearing Linda's story. I loved the pictures she chose to share with the audience. I am inspired by her journey, and felt deeply connected to many of the themes. She is a survivor, but not a victim, and it was an honor to watch this Hollywood powerhouse tell us what the world was like for HER. Go Linda!... full review

Fulfillment

Excellent performances and good concept. I (humbly) feel that this show could benefit from some major edits, and finding a way to get the audience on CJ's side earlier. His character is not redeemable for much of the play, though the people around him love him in spite of his self-centered nature. I needed a Save the Cat moment to fall in love with CJ somewhere in the first third. I want an arc, but I also need to love him or a piece of him. I was happy with the resolution of the piece. And again... full review
