My name is Vasthy Mompoint(she/her), a happy first-generation Haitian, hailing from Alabama and most recently New York. I now lobe in LA. In addition, I am a writer, dancer, musician singer, actress, teacher, and producer! I started off as a dancer, and I have been in 8 shows on Broadway (most recently The Prom and Spongebob Square Pants).
I got a passion for writing when I was sick had major surgery and was not able to sing or dance. I was always too nervous to do it, but once I started it has taken over. I wrote a show in recovery called “Bits, Gummies, Folk, and Love” about my experience of being sick and how it gave me the time to finally sit still and think about how I’d gotten to where I was. The show speaks of me growing up in a town in Alabama where I was one of the few blacks AND immigrant kids in school. It was picked up by the popular nightclub in New York, 54 Below. I was then asked to join the CBS Sketch comedy showcase in 2020, which moved me from New York to Los Angeles. I learned so much about writing in the program and received a writing scholarship for Saturday Night Live.
At home, I LOVE food, laughing, adventures, and meeting new weird, beautiful complicated, artistic brains.
