Josh Allan Dykstra

I’m happy to be a co-conspirator on the music-side of “Group: a Musical.” I’ve been a musician all my life, and even had a small detour down the “rockstar” path after college. That crazy ride included the good fortune of releasing two full-length albums and an EP under the moniker “Josh Allan” (all available on iTunes), as well as opening for national acts like The Fray, Mat Kearney, and Sister Hazel. During that time I was also a deejay at a Top 20 radio station in Denver, Colorado, entertaining a nightly audience of up to 2.5 million listeners.

While music continues to be something I do as much as possible, I now work as an author, speaker and consultant. I am one of the founders and principals of a consulting firm called Strengths Doctors, where I talk and write about reinventing the world of work. I love helping leaders build healthier and more fulfilling places to work. Over the past decade, my business experience has spanned a bizarre number of industries, from Fortune 500 companies like Apple, Starbucks, and Viacom/CBS to startups, nonprofits, and government agencies. I’m also excited to report that my new book, “Igniting the Invisible Tribe: Designing an Organization That Doesn’t Suck,” will be published and released in early 2012.

I’m honored to be a part of this brand new musical, and sincerely hope the show moves you appreciate and cherish the daily interactions of your “group”, whatever it may be.
