Chris Bramante
writer/actor/improvisor
Chris Bramante is a writer, actor, and improviser from the forests of New Hampshire who now lives in Los Angeles, California. He creates and performs with the musical comedy collective Robot Teammate, two-time winners of Best Musical at the Hollywood Fringe Festival.
In 2012, Robot Teammate was founded as a musical improv troupe and solidified its narrative form during an 86-week run at iO West’s Cherry Crush audience vote competition. The troupe went on to perform throughout the American Southwest at venues such as Golden Road Brewing, UCB, WestSide Comedy, Lake Arrowhead’s Tudor House, the Red Rocks Improv Festival, and LA Comic Con, and was named Best in Fest at the 2016 San Diego Improv Festival.
Robot Teammate has performed hundreds of improvised musicals and collaboratively created and starred in four original scripted musicals. In 2015, Robot Teammate created and performed their first scripted musical for the Hollywood Fringe Festival, TIMEHEART, an absurdist time-travel adventure. In subsequent years, the team went on to create three more musicals: THUG TUNNEL, a dystopian, synth-heavy, leather-clad ’80s epic; TURBULENCE, a sci-fi sports musical following Earth competing against Mars in the Intergalympics; and POCKETS, a Dickensian farcical tale of crime and crumpets. Both TURBULENCE and POCKETS won Best Musical at the Hollywood Fringe Festival and later had Off-Broadway runs in New York City at the SoHo Playhouse. In 2024, Robot Teammate helped high school students in New Hampshire stage POCKETS as their fall production. For more info, follow @Robot_Teammate on Instagram.
