Desiree Marisol Carcamo

Desiree Marisol Carcamo (they/them) is a very superstitious Mexican-Salvadoran-American and self-taught , Gen Z director, actor, writer, and producer. They grew up in a haunted house that was once owned by devil worshippers in South Central LA and survived being a closeted queer kid at a toxic, conservative, religious high school. They earned their masters-bachelors in bioengineering at University of California Riverside. Desiree’s career has been developed through the NBCU-Nosotros ‘Ya Tu Sabes!’ Monologue Slam (writer winner, 2020), the CBS Leadership Pipeline Challenge (director fellow, 2022), the Disney-NHMC Series Writers’ Program (writer fellow, 2021), the Latinx Theatre Commons (Actor Laboratorio Trainee, 2026), El Teatro Frida Kahlo’s 10 Minute Play Festival (writer-director, 2026) and others.
