In the name of full disclosure:
I just recently met Michael Shaw Fisher; I thought he was a swell guy. I was familiar with some of his past work. Was a big fan of his 2012” “Doomsday Cabaret”, an antic romp with a wide array of the apocalyptic myths?
I thought “Exoricistic – The Rock Musical Parody Experiment” was one of the best shows in Fringe 2013 (And so did just about everybody else – awarded “Best Musical”)
And 2014”s “Werewolves of Hollywood Blvd”? It was okay (But I me...

You need to go into show with your eyes open. Writer, director and producer Kelly D’Angelo is certainly ambitious in undertaking to stage a Broadway style musical of “The Count of Monte Cristo.” There’s no denying the show has problems, most of which D’Angelo might have avoided if she had limited the number of hats she’s wearing here. Running the two hour show without an intermission is perhaps not the wisest decision The production suffers from a clumsy book and repeatedly plunging the audi...

Now I liked “The Halfwits Last Hurray”, and “The Poe Show” was certainly good for some highbrow\lowbrow snickers, but congrats to director Amanda Weier and especially Rebecca Lincoln for serving me up my first jaw dropper of this Fringe Fest (I’m confident there’ll be many more) A strange, disturbing, and excellently mounted tale of a woman’s descent into madness. Lincoln does a superb job Mark Wilson deserves praise for for his beautifully woven sound web.

Professor Nakamoto's Nexus of Numbers is certainly a unique show even for the Fringe (Which is saying something, let’s face it.) I was perplexed, I was amazed, I was thoroughly entertained. Big brain stuff, knuckle draggers best avoid. Puzzling and delightful. What more can you ask for? I really loved this show....

Well, Jacob Sidney played Hamlet. Hamlet lost. A production with quite a bit of money involved, and even more ego. Never a good mix as this show so sadly proves....

“In The Fog” A stunningly beautiful piece directed by Samantha Shay inspired by Yuri Norstein’s animated film “Hedgehog in the Fog”. From the first moment they had me, and if they hadn't ended the show I'd still be sitting there. A feast for the eye. ...

“Dramatis Personae” A clever, intelligent, one man show written and directed by Sean Dillon and Curtin Krick that is almost where it should be. And while it is a pity it hasn’t got to where it wants to be, where it’s going is interesting enough to cut it some slack. Check it out....

Director Koni McCurdy and cast treats Homer’s epic to a Monty Python restyling that delivers an hour long version of the Greek classic which manages to be both true to the source material and a heck of a lot of fun. Dan Pena, Victoria Hilferty, Veronica Wylie and the rubber faced Jonathan Regier move like quicksilver over the stage snatching up every laugh possible while they do. Simply great fun for the whole family. ...

To be utterly transported by a theatrical experience that resonates long after you’ve left, IS the holy grail of experience that we all seek to find when we enter a space outside our own reality. Colin Mitchell’s one-man show, Linden Arden, is that rare theatrical gem that combines the jagged underworld of iniquity with the poetry of survival and dignity. A supreme performance by Colin, profoundly transforms the song this show is based on into a story of human survival that is gripping and magnet...

The Trial of Dali

I'm afraid the "The Trial of Dali" was even more disappointing than the O.J. Trial. Other than Jane Edwina Seymour the acting was flat enough to stroll unnoticed beneath the belly of a slug. We had high hopes for this one, but unfortunately it was a "mistrial". Throw rocks at this one, surreal melting rocks.
Sorry folks...
