Karen received her B.A. in theatre from Loyola Marymount University. You most recently saw Karen in Ruby Tragically Rotund directed by Jon Lawrence Rivera at LATC as understudy, ProClitvities directed by Vicki Grise and produced by Reina Prado at Highways Theatre and Henry V and The Changeling with Independent Shakespeare Co at Barnsdall Park and the Lillian Theatre, Sissy by Ricardo Bracho and directed by Armando Molina at CoA.

Karen Anzoategui wrote a semi autobiographical one woman show entitled SER in which we follow Karen’s journey, told via a soccer match, where we experience Karen find her identity as an Argentine in pre-dominantly Mexican cultured Los Angeles and also, Karen’s coming out the closet. Ser was workshopped at REDCAT Theatre at Disney Hall, Casa 0101, Teada Productions, Company of Angels and Syzygy Theatre with LA Writers Center. Karen is a proud member of LA Writers Center with Che’Rae Adams, who is her dramaturg and director.

Karen is a stand-up comedian featured on SiTv’s Latino 101 and throughout venues in Los Angeles. Such as the Ice House, Comedy Store, The Mbar and Jon Lovitz club.
Karen is proud of SER and to work with Reg E Gaines(Bring in Da Noise, Bring in Da Funk) as dramaturg and Che’Rae Adams (Tender) as director with Danny Munoz as Assistant Director.
Karen is also involved in humanitarian efforts within the HIV field providing housing and hope for people living with HIV/AIDS through the Serra Project.
