Four Clowns does it again! This year's Fringe presentation, The Halfwits Last Hurrah, took on the larger Lillian Theatre and the amazing life and spirit of the show was busting out of that huge space, not to mention every seat was full! The energy of the room started high and never lost momentum, we were with them every step of the way. It's an event not to be missed packed with big belly laughs, amazing spectacle, fun interactions, and touching moments full of heart. GO SEE!... full review

"The Mermaid Who Learned How to Fly"

We go to the theatre to be told great stories, to be taken on a journey, and to see magic happen right before our eyes. Kyla Garcia blows the audience away with her ability to fulfill not only those desires, but takes you on a ride (or flight) you'll be thinking about for days. What good art should do. Her writing is truthful, from the heart, poetic, with the ability to make you feel like it was written just for you. And her performance of the material is even more awe-inspiring. Four Clowns presents Me Rich You Learn

There is comedy genius overflowing from this production from not only the amazing performers Zachary Steele and Adam Carpenter, but the entire directing team and Four Clowns company as an entity. You couldn't try and predict what will come next and will fight internally between losing yourself in laughter and catching the next best thing, as they manage to continue to top each hysterical moment again and again. The unapolegetic playfulness and exploration from the performers and creative team was... full review

My Mobster

This was my favorite story-telling of any show I saw at The Fringe. I was completely involved in this woman's journey and was laughing out loud from the writing, timing of the actress, and specificity of the characters Joy morphs into. I also was deeply moved and left with something more than I came with- an amazing feat. I look forward to seeing what work this artist will bring us in the future.... full review

Girl Band in the Men's Room

I've been looking forward to seeing this show for weeks and I was not let down. The grunge, the hair, the set, the wonderful script and the great performances made this show one of my favorites of the Fringe so far. A strong piece about strong women and these actresses did it justice. The relationships and history between these band members were strong and pulsing under the surface. The only constructive criticism I would have would be about some of the directing choices in the delivery of the o... full review

Four Clowns: Romeo & Juliet

I saw the 2011 Fringe preview of Four Clowns: Romeo & Juliet on June 11th and it is outstanding!! I was impressed by the creativity, originality, movement, comedy, and humanity of the original Four Clowns from Hollywood Fringe 2010 and now Aluma is at it again with, I believe, an even stronger incarnation. The story of Romeo & Juliet is an amazing arena of emotion for these bold characters to play, parody, and perform with zero inhibitions. The kind of theatre you wish happened more in Hollywood.... full review
