Paul Thomas

This particular Paul Thomas is a comedian. He recently performed his solo sketch show Comedogenic at Chicago’s famous iO Theater. He has also taken it to The New York Fringe Festival and the North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival. His solo work includes the true questionable love story “Waitress Wanted,” which was a selection in Live Bait Theater’s Fillet of Solo Festival in 2006.

He is a former member of the Defiant Thomas Brothers, winners of Best Sketch Group at HBO’s 2005 U.S. Comedy Arts Festival. Last year Paul was named to Comedy.com Top 20 Stand Comedians in Chicago.

He also writes, directs, and produces short films, web shorts, and music videos. Some of them have screened at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal, the LA Comedy Shorts Festival, and the Midwest Independent Film Festival, amongst others. Please waste a better part of an afternoon watching his stuff on his site bigheadpaul.com. Much cooler is that he was featured in The Breeders’ video “Walk It Off.”

On the music front, Paul, Jeff Madden, and Cork Kangas comprise Lola Balatro, the post-grunge acoustic com-rock band that is scorching the earth with hits like “I Got 2 Black Friends” and “Questionable Beef.”
