Tales from a Harlot Nun

This show takes you back in time to the soviet era. Mary is a brilliant actress. Poised and utterly in control of the room. Through watching her small acts, like asking someone for light or burning a letter, we exist completely in her world. The bleakness, the energy, the fear, we feel it all. This show is brilliantly directed and lit, which all adds to the intensity. ... full review

SUPERNOVA : Spiritual Death of a Hot Mess

I laughed. I cried. Someone in the audience held me. Liza was incredibly vulnerable on stage, and coupled her performance with a powerful voice and humor, which created balance in the show. And did I mention there is a live band! ... full review

William Shakespeare's 'Much Ado About Nothing'

Brilliant production of Shakespeare’s play. The characters were all eccentric and hilariously acted. There was not one second when I did not feel thoroughly entertained. The directing was slick and bold. The choices around casting and fun and thoughtful. It is a highly imaginative production. The length and humor make this a very accessible play to take teenagers to. I would highly recommend it. ... full review

Right of the bat this play had me engaged. The first act is full of brilliantly written quick witted characters. Breakfast club meets lord of the flies. The ending scene is so imaginative and well done, it had me feeling all the feelings and laughing out loud. The acting was top notch and so was the writing. ... full review

Brilliant show by PJ Brown. He had me from the moment he walked on stage. Kevin Hart vibes. His infectious energy, quick wit and wonderful impressions, particularly of his Jamaican mother, draw you in. It was a pleasure to watch his special, which was meticulously written, every joke landed and had me laughing out loud (I’m not even the laugh out loud sort). I was dying. Congratulations PJ, can’t wait to see this again on HBO! ... full review

I Hope You Heal

Christina oozes confidence on stage. Every line is delivered with calm precision. And every joke gets a laugh. Christina looks like she knows exactly what she’s doing and owns the space. She could teach a masterclass. Christina’s story hits hard with the realization that her parents will never value anything she does as much as marring an Indian man. It’s a chilling thought when you look at this accomplished young woman with her endless attributes. But it certainly haunts her enough to ignore he... full review

New Kids on the Blockchain

I really loved this very polished and expertly crafted show. Viv is a brilliant storyteller. Her attention to weird and hilarious details brings every character in the story alive. Viv is very relaxed on stage and is a natural performer, seamlessly jumping between playing the different crypto bros. She also makes fun use of all the props. I think the story is really about self worth, compromising your self worth to be part of something bigger and ‘cooler’ than yourself, only to be finally pushed ... full review

Sunita: Back To Me

I loved watching this show. Sunita hits the stage and dazzles us with her glamorous look (she was a pageant queen!) and then pours out the dreams of her youth to us. Over the course of the show we learn about her hopes and challenges and how they shift over the course of the journey of her life. The show is over an hour but somehow feels much shorter as it’s easy to become transfixed by the songs and the story. There was a standing ovation at the end, which I’m sure is pretty standard for this so... full review

What a brilliant show. If you love musicals, this will really hit the spot. Book Mormon meets traditional love story. Great cast. Some really stand out performances by supporting characters too. I would recommend this to anyone. It’s uplifting, heartfelt and silly. Please go and see!... full review

I Won't Tell

Amazing two person play. Set in a windowless room deep within a ship in the year 1543, two girls meet. In another life they might have been friends on an equal footing, but not here. One is effectively a prisoner from an island off Japan and the other is Portuguese missionary captain’s daughter. It’s dark situation full of power imbalance, and only gets darker. Exactly why this poor girl was taken from her home is finally made clear. And love and loyalty bond to a father proves tighter than ever.... full review
