Elizabeth Yochim

Elizabeth Yochim is a dancer, performance artist, and fine art appraiser. She is the creator of the Angelbird and has performed as the winged creature on the streets of Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, in Canada and throughout Europe at theatre, as well as, art festivals. The study of art history, authentic movement and “no fourth wall theatre” is the basis of her artistic practice. She creates solo and group performative works internationally that collaborate with the environment—be it the city or the natural world. From the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to the edge of the Vatican City in Rome, from Berlin to Paris, this enchanting, mythical figure, has offered a unique public engagement experience that begins with a specific performance and culminates with the invitation to “remember your wings” and take flight with imaginary wings and fly.
