She's So Special

A hilarious, beautifully deranged coming-of-age—slash coming-of-middle-age—story, told by one of the best performers you’ll see at Fringe. This show sends up many of the tropes we’re familiar with from other “Smalltown Girl Moves to the Big City” stories, but it transcends parody. It’s a vehicle for a truly gifted clown to do some spectacularly dumb stuff for your amusement.... full review

Whimsical, silly, occasionally jet-black-dark (figuratively and literally), and moving: this show is aptly named, because watching it provokes a wide range of those pesky emotions! It’s a beautiful show, a privilege to watch.... full review

It asks big questions about the creator’s place in the world as a disabled man, and maybe even bigger questions about the nature of Story and our human need for it. The audience is culpable here, and we know it.... full review

QFWFQ

An exploration of a rich internal landscape, as much as it is an exercise in theatrical form and structure. The word “brave” gets thrown around a lot with solo shows, but this one deserves it. This is mind-expanding work that I’ll be thinking about for a long time.... full review
