Bold, brave and authentic, My Tiger dives into writer and actor Dionysius Vlachos's everyday reality as an Aisan American and what life is truly like for him. This play comes from a deeply personal origin, and Dionysis does not hold back, showcasing a raw, emotional life story. A huge round of applause to the amazing cast, with every role perfectly cast as well as great direction throughout.... full review

Sweet Air

Sweet Air is a beautifully uplifting piece with a whole lot of heart and just the right amount of nitrous oxide. Everything in this platon-com kept a smile on my face the entire time. The audience is wrapped into the world of a train stop at 3 am, and you can't help but root for the two waiting for their ride on the early morning after Valentine's day, charmingly portrayed by Newton Mayenge and Jenni Chiaramonte, whoms chemistry blended exquisitely throughout the entire piece. Terrific direction ... full review

Reservoir Dolls: The Whole Bloody Affair

Lani Harms talent shines in this uproarious one-woman show Reservoir Dolls. Lani's commitment to each individual Tarantino leading lady was magical and such a blast to watch. I loved the blend of simple staging, with the use of video clips through the scene changes, as Lani flows through these changes into each new character effortlessly. I sincerely hope Mr. Tarantino is able to see this wickedly awesome show in person. One of my favorite shows this Fringe season. ... full review

Except Myself

Except Myself is the Inside Out of theatre, and I cherished every bit of it. One of my favorites of Fringe this year, for sure! Fantasticly written by Drew Petriello, Except Myself draws the poignant honesty that's in us all - all 5 parts that are in us, that is, and showcases how each facet of who we are create the essential building blocks of everything we're made up to be. I left the show thinking about my own life and how sometimes we can neglect or not honor our truths and push aside feeling... full review

Polite Conversations and Wine

A stunning display of the human connection and the ties that bind us, brought together with a few glasses of wine and family troubles aplenty, Polite Conversations and Wine blends both a unique twist of the passing of time and how two mother and daughter duos navigate their personal truths. With breakthrough performances on full display by Amy Marcs, Mikki Hernandez, Robin Mcdonald and Leah Jarvik, this dramady hits home with each performer grounded brilliantly in each part. Woody Fu: One Man John Wick 2.0 (2025)

ashley karp · June 20, 2025 certified reviewer
Woody Fu is a hilarious genius in Woody Fu: One Man John Wick 2.0. With the perfect blend of The Naked Gun-esque comedy combined with impeccable audience work, epic sound and lighting effects and hysterical banter, this show has it all. I wholeheartedly appreciated all of the Keanu anecdotes. Growing up with a mother that had the hugest crush on Mr. Reeves, I've seen every movie of his countless times. Woody does an incredible job blending all of the classics in with the John Wick theme. I laughe... full review

Searching For Robert Hennessey

Michael-Shaun Hennessey is an absolute delight in his one-man show Searching For Robert Hennessey. Michael's enigmatic energy leaves you hoping he finds his father, and as the piece moves on, each crumb he receives as a lead in his search leaves the viewer cheering him on more and more the entire time. The ending is simply beautiful and so fulfilling. I'm so happy Michael shared his incredible story of his father this Fringe.... full review

And What of the Children...

ashley karp · June 18, 2025 certified reviewer
And What Of The Children...is one of the most gripping, twisted and dark pieces I've ever seen at a Fringe. While heart is present, each moment in this play leaves the viewer falling deeper and deeper into the ill illuminated world the characters in this piece encounter. I was left wanting to save the characters from their fate, with no hope in sight. It truly is something to behold. The actors were remarkable and the writing was impactful and powerful. ... full review

Marcus Is Alive

Marcus J Freed bares his soul in this phenomenal, harrowing tale about his own life, overcoming life's trials and seeing the beautiful side to every chapter in Marcus Is Alive. Marcus is a wonderful storyteller, and through his life in this piece, he encapsulates every moment with captivating characters and heartfelt humor. I left the show realizing a lot about my own life, and how those moments one might have that one might think are bad moments might just be the blessings we needed the most. Tr... full review

One Up: The Musical

One Up: The Musical is one of my all time favorite musicals I've seen at Fringe, ever. Every moment of this production was vibrant, thoroughly enjoyable and a sight to see. From the fabulous writing about an underdog intern becoming the star in her own life and others (performed brilliantly by Alanna Hernandez), to the magnificent songbook which I was singing to myself as I was leaving the theatre, to the spectacular cast (truly, one of the best ensembles I've seen all Fringe), this is a must-see... full review
