FEELINGS

ashley karp · June 24, 2025 certified reviewer
Vibrant, compelling, and soul touching, Feelings gets you all in your feels in all the right ways. Elodie Azoulay is captivating, and their warmness invites you into their world, and coincidentally, your world as well. Elodie flows through the hard topics of who we are, what makes us feel, and how we deal with the tough emotions, all the while sharing their own vulnerability and truth. It was fascinating. I was so happy to see this as an early morning show as well (I am not a morning person by an... full review

FUCK! An Iceberg: A One Woman Titanic with Magic Preshow

ashley karp · June 22, 2025 certified reviewer
Magnificent, hilarious, brilliant and beautiful in every single way, Fuck! An Iceberg: A One Woman Titanic is one of my absolute favorite shows I've seen at Fringe, ever. Mallie Mccown invites you into her mad world with effervescence, with her diary entries being perfectly incorporated into the hysterical reenactment of Titanic, both cassette tapes and all. This piece has Mallie's heart on full display, along with uproarious crowd work. There is truly never a dull moment in this gorgeous piece. ... full review

The Key to Success

When comedic sci-fi meets cleverly inventive storytelling, you get The Key To Success! This show had me on my toes the entire time. I thought I knew where it was going, and each door had another reveal of another character of the same character (no spoilers), which alone was fascinating to watch. A super fun ensemble with plenty of laughs abound. I love original concepts in storytelling, and as the play was moving through, I instantly saw this play as a film, which I hope they do in the future! I... full review

The Dangerous Book for Boys

The Dangerous Book For Boys is a charmingly fun show, and Jamie Gallo created a magnificent character that is infectiously magnetic in every way. As a child actor myself who wanted to run away from home as a kid as well (who didn't, honestly), this piece drew me in right from the start. With wonderful crowd work woven in smoothly, each element of this show had me giggling and snorting with laughter the entire time. Super enjoyable to watch!... full review

Brick by Brick

With a remarkable blend of bold truth, captivating stage work and enthralling storytelling, Brick By Brick is a show that sticks with you after lights out, especially if you're an artist who's never said never. Nina Rancel is simply fascinating, and her journey as an artist is beautifully displayed, with fun elements showcasing her various talents. Amazing direction from Miles Berman - each stage element flowed effortlessly and was gorgeously orchestrated. One of my favorites this Fringe season!... full review

Godless

ashley karp · June 21, 2025 certified reviewer
Electrifying, magnetic, dynamic and unapologetically herself, Cristina Fernandez is enigmatic in her one-woman show Godless. This show is not your typical one-woman story, and that's what I loved most about it. It leaves you to think about each moment in time and how we, in that moment and for that moment with her and her show, we're sharing time, and how valuable that in itself is. Beautifully orchestrated, hilarious and thought provoking. Amazing work overall.... full review

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring: Extended Edition: Part 3

ashley karp · June 21, 2025 certified reviewer
Riley Smith is utterly magnificent in this high energy one-man retelling of Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring: Extended Edition: Part 3. I wish I had seen the two other iterations previous to this one. I laughed so hard throughout the entire show. It was a blast being able to sing along, call out lines with fellow audience members, and being able to "ride" around on inflatable horses onstage chasing after a girl that looks like Steven Tyler was the icing on the LOTR cake. Truly a deli... full review

The Club of Broken Fasts

I knew from the start as an 80's film fanatic I was going to certainly fall in love with The Club Of Broken Fasts. What I didn't know until after watching it last night is how much I would love it, and now I can honestly say this show is one of my favorites this Fringe season. From the incredible ensemble (one of the best casts I've seen this Fringe), to holding true to the classic The Breakfast Club just enough with the beautiful balance of added Shakespeare dialog, to the smart sets interchange... full review

OOPS

ashley karp · June 21, 2025 certified reviewer
Olivia Atwood is brilliant, charming and downright hilarious in her one-woman show Oops, which jumps right into her exceptionally entertaining world as a matchmaker. Olivia is an incredible storyteller, and each story moment had me rolling with laughter from beginning to end. Also, I'll never hear the name Anne Marie the same way again, which is wonderful. A super fun, uproarious hour of truthfully hilarious narration, and a must-see this Fringe!... full review

Antony Zioni - Tales of the Ancient East

ashley karp · June 21, 2025 certified reviewer
Immensely engaging and thoroughly entertaining, Antony Zioni creates a spectacular world of epic puppets, mesmerizing vocals, hypnotizing drums and classic tales in Antony Zioni - Tales of the Ancient East. I felt like I was watching a pseudo rock opera where GHOST meets Black Sabbath meets an immersive ritual, and I absolutely loved every second of it. So creative, so unique, and in a lane all its own. This is one of the only shows so far where I want to experience it again to fully take in ever... full review
