women who eat was an incredible play. The writing and directing worked so well for an original play. It’s been a while since I have gone to live theater and this is definitely a great re-introduction back into it. The actors really harp on the fact that there’s an audience inches away from them, and were able to provide a strong connection. The point of art is to cause powerful emotion amongst the masses, and this show did just that. Despite its predictable writing and school project twist, it had a profound emotional impact on me and made me look back at my own decisions, and that is what makes art powerful. ... full review

This was so strong, and so funny, and so heartbreaking. I was a weepy mess after it but out of so much love and catharsis for Alice, her journey, and the journey of MANY women that hurt too much to talk about dead babies. An amazing one-man show. On the face of it, Act Normal is just a conversation. A guy telling you about his life. But as it progresses, you get to know Tom Ayers in a way that cuts past the "funny quirky standup comic" to this surreal sense of the thing we all have in common - the sort of fragile sense of how we're as alive as we decide to be. This show was really impressive. It was a very polished tight comedy presentation that I wouldn't be surprised at all to see as a Netflix comedy special. I have found myself reciting some of my favorite lines over and over since seeing this show. I have not stopped thinking about hilarious lines like "guns are the bullets of metaphors" - so much so that I think I may even be making sense of the nonsense the more I think about it.
