Description
Theatre Theater is a (now) bicoastal podcast hosted by three members of the LA Theatre scene and beyond. After nearly 5 seasons of content, we have covered several playwrights, both current and historical and extensively discussed the intersection of film and theatre. As connoisseurs of script analysis and development we would like to present this award to a writer who we believe has the potential to be listed among the great playwrights. Therefore this award is to be presented to the playwright that we believe has the most potential for forward movement in the industry.
Qualifications
1. Hollywood Fringe ’25 must be the first production of the script.
2. NON-MUSICAL scripts only.
3. Award will be presented to the PLAYWRIGHT.
4. NO solo shows.
5. NO SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER WEDNESDAY 6/4!
Methodology
As a group, we will read all of the scripts and then have a small, select committee (including Scott Leggett) that will attend the shows. We will be keeping individual notes/scores but then ultimately deciding the winner as a group.
Reward
Upon receiving the award, the winner will be given a handsome plaque. Beyond the ceremony the winner will be given the opportunity to be a guest on our podcast. We will interview them and discuss the body of their work (as well as the winning piece). The hope is for additional visibility in the theatre world as well as a continued relationship between ourselves and the artist. We love to keep in touch with and continue to support our winners and nominees!
