Description
This award honors the song at Fringe that we feel represents the “number one hit” of the festival. The song that we remember as we leave their show and keep thinking about as the festival goes on. We would like to commemorate the winner by producing a music video of the song with creative collaboration from the songwriter.
Qualifications
The show needs to have at least one original song to qualify. Song cannot be instrumental only.
Methodology
The winning song will be the standout among the others. Every Broadway season there’s a song that everyone obsesses about, think “waving through a window,” “she used to be mine,” etc. We are looking for the Fringe equivalent. An up and coming songwriter (s) who deserve to be celebrated for their ability to write a hit we love and remember.
Reward
The reward is a fully funded/produced music video of the original song that will be published online.
