What I liked
I loved how the show was structured as if it were an AA meeting, and that the piece encourages interaction with the audience. It’s fun to watch the two actors juxtapose each other in voice, both bringing to the table their reflection of living and navigating the ups and downs of being human.
What I didn't like
I’d be curious to see the two pieces relate to each other more. Excited to attend another performance so as to see how a different persona relates with the authentic self.
My overall impression
Unmasked Anonymous is a fun mixture of interactive and experimental theater. Jumping between scripted and unscripted, Jessica and Megan successfully create an environment which allows the viewer to become immersed in a night of disclosure; whether it be the public persona or the intimate authentic self, the tellings are at times humorous, tragic, and relatable.
