What I liked

I’d say this is the most fascinating show I’ve seen at Fringe. It’s certainly the one that leaves the most up to interpretation, which for a performance artist is incredibly bold. Elena is a fantastic actor who completely commits to 4 incredibly distinct characters, and makes each one feel lived in. She does not hide behind any cheap tricks or audience nods. She let’s the audience peer and question her and her monologues like she is a piece of art hanging on a wall, but the art is fully alive and entirely unpredictable. No matter how you interpret it, it is undeniably a stunning work of art.

My overall impression

This is a beautifully one of a kind show. It’s apocalyptic, dreamlike, a little spooky, and VERY well acted. Performance should challenge norms and expectations and this show makes it a pleasure with a cocktail of theatre and visual art. By not placing narrative at the forefront and using character as the primary emotional core, Elena pulls the audience into a permanent lean-in so as not to miss a word, a phrase, or a gesture, and she manages to work some pretty big laughs out of us as well.
