What I liked

My favorite thing about the show is Drew himself. He has the sort of authentic presence that reminds me of Paul Dano in that he can seem incredibly small and frightened, but lying beneath the surface is a tremendous capacity for energy and power. He’s a tempest of emotion. Drew’s performance is really special to watch and his play very cleverly uses the heart as a structure. It’s incredibly inventive, creative, and highly personal.

What I didn't like

I only wonder if a larger space would give Drew the chance to feel smaller and more lost at moments, while also giving him more room to fill with his excellent physicality.

My overall impression

A beautiful, existential drama. A work of poetry as much as a piece of theatre. Drew is an artist’s artist and an actor’s actor. He is bold and brave and he fills the stage with courage and raw energy, but he also bares himself without affect or pretense. This play is lofty yet intricate, expansive yet intimate, and while it leaves much to be interpreted, Drew’s passion, craft, and heart are inarguably left on the stage.
