What I liked

I could absolutely see this show being an awesome fully produced theatrical experience. I loved how with so little in terms of scenery, the show managed to feel like Venice. Without ever needing to see the city, you could smell the hot, salty air and feel the tension between the tech boomers and priced out tenets. The cast was wonderful, each character bringing a totally unique quality to the story with rich performances. I wish I could give this show a budget.

My overall impression

Maybe it’s my affinity for the classic American myth of the tortured writer, but I loved this show. It’s a molotov cocktail of ego, drug abuse, and mental disorders that’s dripping with unresolved tension. I don’t know if Kerouac, Steinbeck, or Williams ever wrote about Venice specifically, but it might have looked something like this.
