What I liked

I loved the dancing and ached to see more of it! I also thought the interweaving of exposition, use of projections, staging, etc., was done to the fullest extent this venue allowed. This is a performer whose work I want to see more of in the future and that is honestly the highest compliment I can give :-)

What I didn't like

This venue did allow proper lighting to showcase what was a huge selling point – the DANCING! For any future iterations of the show, I’d also list it as more than just a solo show – adding the word “dance” will help market it to a whole additional audience. Just an idea…

My overall impression

Deeply moving, touching, personal, and expressive are just a few of the words that immediately come to mind after seeing Jana Krumholz’s Dance/Solo Show! How does a Jew honor her Holocaust survivor lineage, but also stay true to her soul’s purpose? That is the crux of this show… and the difficulty in navigating loyalty to family, the weighty legacy of even being alive, and what is the best way to honor those who came before you and made the ultimate sacrifice. This show was a beauty to behold!
